Super Mario Bros The Movie Review and Speculations

 The Super Mario Bros Movie:

As a Nintendo and Mario fan I was excited to hear that Mario was going to be making his way to the big screen in 2023 as himself not as a live action character who we don't talk about.

I've played most Mario games from Super Mario Bros to the obscure lesser know Mario's teacher's typing games. Yes, Mario has a typing game which was actually very fun to play as a kid getting tricked into typing.

Anyways, I watched the movie with my son and this was his first time viewing a movie at the movie theater. He was super excited and stocked to see the movie. The movie starts with the original Mario and the Nintendo logo. The theater erupted and all the kids were screaming Mario.

The movie fleshes Mario and Luigi's story out just enough to get a glimpse into their work and play life before jumping into the Mushroom Kingdom. The movie makes Luigi the character that we are focuses on saving and breathes ne light into princess Peach and her own origin story. 

The addition of Donkey Kong and a few other unexpected characters really fits well into the story line. The movie is an hour and a half of straight Nintendo fun. The characters are not over the top nor are they bland and boring.

The final showdown between Mario and Bowser is one for the ages. I'm sure we will see another Mario movie in the future. I believe a Donkey Kong movie is already in the works. Personally I want to see a Luigi's mansion movie but hey we can dream.

I give this movie an overall score of must watch because it's fun, family friendly and an overall good time!!!

My son loved the movie as well and now creates his own Super Mario levels in real life with his Nintendo Amiibo Figures.
